NITDA, NYSC Get Honour as Spokespersons Become NIPR Fellows
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has conferred its Fellowship award on the Head of Corporate Affairs at the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, Mrs. Hadiza Umar, and the National Youth Service Corp, NYSC, Director, Press and Public Relations, Mr. Eddy Megwa.
The investiture ceremony was attended by eminent personalities from the academia, military, public and private sectors, together with seasoned PR experts in the country.
At the event, in Abuja, yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari, represented by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Muhammed, tasked NIPR members and its fellows to champion the course of rebuilding Nigeria’s image, globally.
Meanwhile, Spokespersons Digest gathered that, Mrs. Umar, a journalist and public relations expert, with vast practical experience, joined NITDA from NBC in 2009, as its Head of Corporate Affairs.
Megwa, the NYSC spokesperson, is an alumnus of the University of Ilorin. He has about 32 years experience in PR practice.
He was once the State Coordinator of the Cross River NYSC Secretariat, and the immediate-past State Coordinator of the NYSC in Lagos State.
Also conferred with the NIPR Fellowship is a former Commissioner of Information in Kwara state, Mr. Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin, the Special Adviser on Strategy to the incumbent Governor of Kwara State, Sa’adu Salau, and also the incumbent Chairman of the Kwara NIPR Chapter, and a Mass Communication teacher at the University of Ilorin, Dr(Mrs) Saudat AbdulBaki.
