UNIlorin VC Congratulates New Kwara NIPR Chairman Gabriel Ogunade
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated the newly elected Chairman of the Kwara State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Mr Gabriel Ogunade, describing the election as “well-deserved”.
The election took place last Wednesday (June 26, 2024), in Ilorin.
In a statement issued by the University Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor, who is an honorary Fellow of the Institute, charged the new Chairman to lead the Kwara State NIPR Chapter to greater heights, while building on the foundation laid by his immediate predecessor, Prof. Saudat Abdulbaqi, a Professor of Mass Communication in the University.
Prof. Egbewole praised the immediate past Chairman, Prof. Abdulbaqi, fnipr, for her exemplary leadership and contributions to the growth and development of the Chapter. He expressed his confidence in the new Chairman’s ability to build on this legacy and take the Chapter to even greater heights.
The Vice Chancellor also extended his congratulations to the other members of the newly elected Executive Committee, including the Vice Chairman, Enoch Opaleke; Secretary, Abdulrahman Sanni; Assistant Secretary, Sanusi Abduljelil; Public Relations Executive, Adegbulugbe Philip Olumide; Treasurer, Janet Olufemi Olarewaju; Financial Secretary, Medinat Adigun-Oladotun; and Auditor, Rachael Solomon. Prof. Egbewole wished the Chairman and the new Executive Committee the best in their endeavours, urging them to work tirelessly to promote the values and objectives of the NIPR in Kwara State. He also expressed his appreciation for the institute’s continued partnership with the University of Ilorin, noting that it has led to numerous benefits for both parties. The Vice Chancellor added that he would be looking forward to the continued success of the NIPR Kwara Chapter under the new leadership.
