NIPR announces Date for Publication of Second Edition of Registered Members
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has approved 15th April 2024, as the date for the official release of the second edition of its Registered members in Nigeria.
The register, PRNigeria reports will include a list of all NIPR members who have been recertified and are financially up-to-date as of March 31, 2024.
The Registrar, Uzoma Onyegbadue made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to the statement, the register will be published on the institute website and circulated widely to employers of its members and the general public.
The statement read in part:
“In line with the duties of the Registrar under Section 8 (3) and Section 9 of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations Practitioners Decree 16 of 1990 (now cited as Cap N114, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, LFN, 2004), this public notice is to inform all members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) that the Council has approved 15th April 2024 as the date for the official release of the second edition of the Register of Public Relations Practitioners in Nigeria. The first was published in October 1992.
“Deadline for entry into the register and publication details:
In line with Section 8 (5) (d) and (e) of the Act, the Council has also approved Sunday, March 31st, 2024 as the deadline for the making of any new entry into the 2024 edition of the Register of Public Relations Practitioners in Nigeria. The Register will be published on the NIPR official website for public viewing and circulated widely to employers and the general public in line with Section 9 of the Act.
“Conditions for Inclusion:
Also relying on Section 8 (5) (d) and (e) of the Act, the Council has approved the following as conditions for inclusion of any person in the register:
i. All recertified members of the Institute who are financially up-to-date as at Sunday, March 31, 2024 (Payments received after this date will be acknowledged and such members included in subsequent editions of the Register from 2025).
ii. Subscription fees can only be paid through online payment, or bank transfer.(Please ensure to provide accurate payment details and include your membership practice number for reference).
iii. Members who owe a backlog of dues are encouraged to take advantage of the special waiver granted by the Council via its memo NIPR/CM/23/VOL.1-002 dated 13th October, 2023 to ensure they are up-to-date.
iv. Members are further encouraged to check and synchronise their contact information at the national secretariat, including office, email addresses and phone numbers, up to date before the deadline of March 31st 2024.
