Recently, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Audi, announced the appointed Olusola Odumosu, the corp’s national spokesman, as the new Commandant of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Odumosu, a strategic communicator, hailed from the Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, his ascent to this prestigious position is unrelenting commitment expertise in the realm of Public Relations and communication strategy.
With a career spanning over two decades, Odumosu has consistently showcased his proficiency in building and managing the reputation of the NSCDC.
Aside his continent media engagement, Odumosu’s notable accomplishments was his instrumental role in conceptualizing and implementing a series of communication mechanisms that have boost the corps’ reputation.
Under his guidance, he spearheaded first ever strategic communication workshop
a three-day for state commandants and their public relations officers was organized. This remarkable gathering featured prominent communication figures, including Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to ex-President Buhari.
During the gathering, Adesina emphasized the indispensability of effective telecommunication for enhancing security operations in the country.
The conference was graced by distinguished individuals, including Mukthar Zubairu Sirajo, President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR); Yushau Shuaib, a renowned Crisis Communicator; Sr. Peter Afunaya from the Department of State Services (DSS); and other reputable security reputation managers. Such an assembly of communication luminaries further underscores Odumosu’s influence and recognition in the field.

A trailblazer in his various capacities within the NSCDC, Odumosu has served as the Corps Provost Marshal, Divisional Officer, and Public Relations Officer for different state commands. In 2021, he was appointed as the Corps National Public Relations Officer, a position he held under the leadership of the incumbent Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
