NUJ Sets Up Committee in Search of 2023 Media Icon
The Nigeria Union of Journalists has constituted a 12-man steering committee in search of 2023 media icons in Nigeria.
The committee, according to report will be
responsibility, to ascertain long-standing media professionals, who used their time, talent, and treasure to advance the nation’s media industry.
The president of the union, Chris Isiguzo urged members to live up to expectations and surpass the outstanding records of its maiden edition.
In a statement by the National Secretary of the Union, Shuaibu Usman Leman noted committee was made up of twelve (12) members, drawn from different state councils, with Gbenga Onayiga, a veteran journalist as Chairman of the committee.
Among the members includes, Adeleye Ajayi, Tunde Olalere, Sylva Okereke, Wale Akodu, Julie Ekong, and Abimbola Oyetunde.
Others are Festus Alenkhe, Grace Ike, Ifeanyi Nwanguma, Umar Saidu, and Olayide Awosanya as Secretary.
Spokespersondigest reports that the event is to recognize and celebrate outstanding media professionals, who have withstood the test of time, despite the heightening challenges.
Its maiden edition held last year attracted distinguished media personalities and employers, from far and near.
The event is a milestone recognition of Media Icons as the brainchild of the Lagos State Council and the National Secretariat of the Union.
