…Calls for National Rebirth through Trust, Transparency
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is set to unveil the report and recommendations of the Citizens Summit for National Integration, Peace, and Security, Tuesday.
The summit, which held last year August, aimed to rebuild trust among Nigerian citizens and foster non-violent communication, while also providing strategies for behavioral re-orientation and improved governance structures.
In a message to commemorate this year’s World PR Day, the President and Chairman of Council, Mal. Mukhtar Zubairu Sirajo urged the government to proactively implement some of the key recommendations from the report adding that by doing so, the country can work towards a new Nigeria, free from divisive sentiments, and strengthen its position as a united nation.
He said, “The public presentation of the Citizens Summit report is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
“The recommendations within the report hold the potential to pave the way for national rebirth and recovery, emphasizing the need to transcend ethnic, religious, and regional divisions to harness Nigeria’s diversity as a unifying force.”
Sirajo also reminded its members to uphold the principles of trust, truth, and transparency as they prepare for the upcoming Annual General Meeting and Elections of the institute, urging them to serve as ambassadors of public relations in their conduct and actions.
“The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations remains committed to promoting the ideals of World PR Day, advocating for a society built on trust, truth, and transparency”, he said.
