Reactions have continued to trail the lack of northern representations in the recently held PR Power List for the year 2023.
According to the organizers, PR Power List is a groundbreaking initiative created by GLG Communications in collaboration with The Guardian newspaper to commend and recognize exceptional PR professionals in Nigeria, coinciding with the annual celebration of World PR Day on July 16.
This year’s list showcases some familiar faces from last year as well as new entrants who have distinguished themselves in the last 12 months.
However, the lack of northern representation in this year’s edition, a region that boasts of foremost PR practitioners, academics, crisis communicators, and brand ambassadors among others has continued to generate controversies, prompting individuals from some quarters to question the credibility of the list.
While some are questioning the true representation of exceptional PR practitioners in Nigeria that made the list of the awardees, others are of the opinion that awards of such caliber should be sanctioned by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
