Africans Elected into Board of Global Alliance for Public Relations
The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management has elected four African countries, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia into its Board of Directors.
President of the Alliance, Justin Green, who was also re-elected at the Annual General Meeting, AGM, of the forum made the disclosure at the ongoing Conference of African Public Relations Association, APRA, taking place in Lusaka, Zambia.
Green, who made a cash donation for the advancement of Public relations practice in Africa, praised the continent for taking steps to use PR to ensure that Africa emerges economically and politically stronger.
Describing the potential of Africa as huge, he listed some of the advantages that would propel the growth of the continent in the foreseeable future.
“Africa has the most untapped potential of any: the creativity and the fusion of African culture across music, dance, fashion, film, sports, region and local traditions, are truly amazing.
“The challenges the continent overcome in the past has strengthened its resolve. In achieving its full potential, Africans always believe that further shores are reachable from here.”
The Global Alliance President also disclosed that the entry for the World PR and Communication Awards is opened as the next World Public Relations Forum would hold in September 2023, in India.
The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management is the confederation of the world’s major PR and communication management associations and institutions, representing over 360,000 practitioners and academics around the world.
He said the Global Alliance’s mission was to unify the public relations profession, raise professional standards all over the world, share knowledge for the benefit of its members and be the global voice for public relations in the public interest.
The Spokespersons Digest reports that the Global Alliance relies on the efforts of communication professionals to tackle common problems with a global perspective.
By partnering with regional, national and international bodies to increase professionalism in public relations and communication management, this Alliance works to enhance the collaborative professionalism of the industry among its constituents around the world.
