Reshape Politicians’ Mindset – Kaduna Dep Gov Tasks PR Experts
The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, has called on Public Relations professionals to deploy PR tools for mobilising supports, resources that will facilitate good governance and sustainable developments.
She noted that PR experts are expected to guide political office holders for advancing a frontline solution to the widening relationship that will build trust for the masses.
Speaking over the weekend at the 2022 Annual Public Lecture and Awards ceremony of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Kaduna state chapter, held at the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Kaduna state.
This year theme: ‘Politics in Policy Polarization: Implications ahead of 2023 General Elections and Beyond’, gathered attendance of senior government officials, civil societies organizations, academics, members of the business community, students, and members of the public.
In her address, she challenged NIPR members either as political appointees or retained media consultants to guide political office holders in ensuring the sustainability of policies and programmes during their tenures.
She regretted the trillions of naira Nigeria has lost due to abandoned projects and advised that continuity in public or political offices is the surest way to ensure sustenance of policies and programs.” she added.
At the event, the Deputy Governor
was presented with the Public Service Award of Excellence by the NIPR, Kaduna State Chapter at the ceremony.
Other notable personalities who were presented with award were Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa MON, Prof. Ladi Adamu of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the Chairman of Blueprint Newspapers, Alhaji Mohammed Idris.
