GITEX GLOBAL 2022: NITDA gets honoured with DWTC Most Valued Partnership Award
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has been honoured with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) Most Valued Partnership Award in recognition of the agency’s extraordinary dedication and service at the ongoing GITEX GLOBAL now the world’s biggest startup and tech event.
Received by the Director General of the Agency, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the DWTC said NITDA has remained consistent in leveraging the GITEX platform to promote Nigeria’s digital aspirations, foster international cooperations and expose the country’s robust startup community to global support.
The award is coming on the heels of recognition accorded the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Prof Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami earlier in the week with the prestigious DWTC Leadership and Commitment Award 2022.
The minister was honoured at the end of a discussion on ‘Digital Inclusion: Aligning Regulators and Network Providers to Bridge Digital Divide’ – of the several vertical industry sessions that make up the 5-day tech show now regarded as the world’s largest startup and tech event.
Since 2013, NITDA has leveraged GITEX to promote the country’s ICT entrepreneurs and policies. This year the agency is promoting a Nigeria Country Pavilion and a Startup Pavilion featuring over 30 exhibitors from the public and private sectors to headline one of the strongest showing Nigeria has ever had since it started showcasing at GITEX in the last decade.
Abdullahi assured the international community that Nigeria remained open to business and collaborations as Africa’s largest economy and also with the largest population in excess of 215 million.
The 42nd edition of GITEX GLOBAL is 33 football fields, 26 halls and 2 million sq. ft to give enough space to the incredible more than 5,000 companies and more than 200, 000 attendees from 170 countries.
