Russian/Ukraine Crisis: U.K adds PR Services to Russian’s Sanction List
The UK government, in further response to Russia/Ukraine invasion, has made an explicit inclusion of public relations services to the list of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
According to the statement obtained by our correspondent, said: |the new regulation is now in force as part of the UK Sanctions and Money Laundering Act 2018.
The release further explained that “It references Professional and Business Services and thus effectively bans UK-based PR firms, along with accountants and management consultants, from providing any professional services to Russia-based clients. The legislation applies to any prospective new clients as well as to any existing clients. This law overrides any contracts agencies may have in place with Russian clients.
“The sanctions also apply to UK companies and individuals in Russia, and to Russian-registered firms operating in the UK. IPRA is a global association with registered offices in the UK. See the text of the law here and the UK government guidance here.”
