PRNigeria Sustains Mentoring Programme for Mass Comm Students
Mass Communication Students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, have joined a mentorship programme on Digital Journalism and Public Relations initiated by PRNigeria.
Speaking on the programme, a Mass Communication lecturer at ABU, Mallam Kabir Lawanti, said that PRNigeria Centre Abuja accepted to mentor the students on modern practical skills of communication.
“I hope our students will benefit from the mentorship programme of PRNigeria that has benefitted many students of Mass Communication of other universities in the country.
“I am very sure the participants will find the exchange and interactions useful in developing their communication skills,” he said.
Responding, the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of PRNigeria, Mallam Yushau Shuaib, said that the training programme would be virtual and physical in its Kano and Abuja offices.
“We are glad to mentor communication students on latest skills in journalism and public relations.
“As an integrated media outfit, apart from expertise in public relations, PRNigeria and its sister publications, have also proved their mettle in the areas of investigative journalism, fact-checking and book publishing.
“We are very hopeful that at the end of the mentorship programme, the students would be able to practise what they learn in their daily engagements and be busy,” he said.
About 16 students, mostly in their final year, have enrolled in the programme that will be online and offline at PRNigeria Offices in Abuja and Kano.
PRNigeria is a subsidiary of Image Merchants Promotion Ltd (IMPR), publishers of Economic Confidential, Emergency Digest, Politics Digest, Tech Digest, Health Digest among other titles.
The firm won Overall Best Fact-Checker in West Africa, African PR Awards and the Golden World Awards of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) among others.
