ISNAD-Africa invites applications for the role of a Communications Specialist role to support her organisational and programme operations.
Roles
Overall organisational communications strategy
Develop and implement overall digital marketing strategies as well as social media campaigns, including analytics and branding
Content creation and community management of online digital networking and convergence platform
Engagement with partners and media organisations
Audio-visual writing reporting and presentations
Skill Set
Required
Excellent and dynamic communications strategist and a community builder
Demonstrated expertise and experience as a Social Media Manager (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn) – including analytics and reporting
Ability to conduct research and critical thinking for effective content creation and Content SEO
Excellent professional presentation and public speaking and writing skills with data and storytelling
Excellent proficiency in English language (writing and speaking) is required
Any or a combination of some of the following would added advantage, however, they are not required:
Experience on green growth, environment, sustainable development, climate change, nature conservation or other related themes and follows recent trends in this field. This may be waved for well-experienced candidates.
Proficiency in French language is an asset
Experience or existing relationship with media organisations
Proposal writing skill
Experience in working with NGOs, policy-related work, media, communications, or administration
Education Requirement
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required provided the candidate has the required skill sets above.
A minimum of a Second Class (Upper Division) is required. with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience. ISNAD-Africa values volunteering experience, hence, would be counted as work experience.
A second-class lower can be considered with relevant experience.
The position is well suited for an environmental Journalist or an experienced communications specialist focused on environmental issues. An environmental lawyer with good communications skills and experience as a Social Media Manager is particularly well-fitted for the role. However, applicants from other fields are welcome and will be considered.
