Benue NUJ sets July for New Election
The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Benue state Council is to conduct elections by July when the tenure of the current Executive Members would have expired.
The Council is currently ruled by an Acting Chairman, Comrade Martins Kajoh who is the Vice-Chairman of the union. The Chairman of the Council, late Mrs. Victoria Ashe died last February and was buried in the first week of March, 2021.
On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, the union held a state congress and set up a credentials committee that would conduct elections in the next three months.

The five member credentials committee has Comrade Iorember Apuu of the state information chapel as chairman. Other members of the committee include David Vihi of Radio Benue, Tamenor Kwaghzer of Newsecho, Mr. James Shim of the Voice Newspaper and comrade Emmanuel Gwaza of the Radio Nigeria (Harvest FM) Makurdi as members.
Speaking during the inauguration of the committee, the State Acting Chairman of the union, Martins Kajo charged them to come up with a time table that could lead to the conduct of free, fair and credible elections.
