NIPR Fixes Date for Elections, AGM
The 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will hold on May 20, 2021, at Command Guest Inn, Bauchi State, Spokespersons Digest reports.
Recall that the AGM, earlier scheduled to hold in April last year, was postponed due to the nationwide lockdown occasioned by the outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic.
A report obtained by Spokespersons Digest correspondent, signed by the Institute’s Vice President, Adewale Adeniyi, said its Electoral Committee has been working round the clock to ensure all documentations, screening and clearance of all candidates standing for election are concluded ahead of the May 20, 2021
“A nominal processing fee of N10,000 will be charged to cater for the ICT logistics and other arrangement to be deployed for the AGM” he stated.
“All eligible members will be required to pre-register well ahead of the AGM date as there will be no registration at the venue, in order to avoid clustering.” he added.
This year’s AGM will be unique because it is planned as a 1-day event in line with the COVID-19 safety protocols as follows:
Arrival – Wednesday, May 19, 2021,
AGM/Election – Thursday, May 20,2021
Departure – Friday, May 21, 2021
“As prescribed by the NIPR Statutes, members are expected to be up-to-date in their annual subscriptions till the year 2019, to be eligible to participate in the Annual General Meeting.” He said.
He however reminds all members and guest to abide by the Covid-19 safety protocols including maintaining physical/social distancing, mandatory use of face masks as well as utilization of half hall capacity at the AGM venue will be strictly enforced as there will be no room for clarifications at the venue.
