Fight Insecurity with Utmost Professionalism, Rivers NIPR tells Service Chiefs
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Rivers State Chapter, has charged the new Service Chiefs to exhibit high level of professionalism as they discharge responsibilities, and prosecute the counter-insurgency war.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of the Chapter’s monthly meeting in Port Harcourt, the State Capital.
The NIPR Chapter, also called on them to avoid being used to champion the political interest of any group of persons.
The communique, jointly signed by Chinedum Emeana, Apianbo Abbey, and Parry Saro Benson, officials of the Rivers NIPR body, observed that the out-gone Service Chiefs performed fairly at the early stage of their tenure, but derailed as time passed by.
It stressed that security agencies must be adequately funded and equipped to place them at vantage position over terrorists and other criminal elements.
“Adequate crises management and prevention mechanisms should be put in place to forestall the brewing of ethno-religious crises at different parts of the country.”
“Meanwhile, it is the responsibility of citizens to support the security agencies in fighting insecurity, by way of volunteering vital information when necessary,” part of the statement reads.
