Fliqpay is a cross-border payment infrastructure for financial institutions, fintechs and global businesses to make and receive payments across Africa and the rest of the world. Our platform and APIs help our customers; make payouts to bank accounts and mobile money wallets, instantly settle FX payments at the cheapest exchange rates, receive payments through crypto and other traditional methods, operate multi-currency wallets, On-ramp & Off-ramp crypto. We leverage blockchain technology to significantly reduce the transaction cost and settlement time of our transactions.

Role overview
We’re looking for someone to lead Marketing and Communications at Fliqpay. We want to win with growth & marketing largely using organic strategies. You will be the first person in our marketing team, so it will be your responsibility to largely execute and in time, grow the team to deliver the organization’s objectives.
A lot of what we’re creating is novel, so a lot of our marketing effort will be around creating loads of content through videos, landing pages, blogs, reviews, comparisons, and more.
The role is fully remote, while this pandemic lasts. However, we will be resuming back at our office in Lagos (Lekki) where we work 2 days onsite and 3 days remote a week.

About The Job
We believe what we’re building has the capacity to change the way financial products for African businesses are built and the landscape in which businesses from outside and within Africa transact. We’re doing this through the suite of products we’re building and we need to be able to tell this story in a way that is clear, engaging and compelling to the audience we’re selling to.
This role is a senior leadership role. We would treat you like the CEO of this role and expect you to actually act in this capacity as well.
What You’ll Be Expected To Do At Fliqpay
Get Fliqpay featured in top publications org (Global & Pan African)
Create and implement Fliqpay’s overall content strategy for written, visual and video content. You will also be charged with our landing page strategy as well.
Significantly organic search Impressions to best in class levels
Convert business up organically over the next 6 months (With 70% of new businesses from outside Nigeria)
Achieve a 10% conversion rate on landing pages by year-end
Rank number 1 on Google for relevant searches in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa & Africa for the product categories we highlight
Create and implement playbooks for marketing & growth initiatives to be implemented over the next 6 months
Build an A-star team that can help achieve all Fliqpay’s marketing objectives.
What We Look For In You
You need to be great at creating playbooks where they don’t exist and independently managing a large amount of work.
Initiative. You won’t be told what to do most times. You must be able to think for yourself, make informed judgements and flesh ideas out. We expect you to act like a CEO of your role
At Fliqpay, we’re a very metric-driven team. As the Marketing lead, you need to be the champion and driver for measuring what matters and using an iterative approach to improvement.
Superior SEO skills are required to succeed in this role.
Content creation. You need to be an excellent content creator and also have an eye for spotting great content, as you will be heavily involved in creating and editing content, especially at the stage of the marketing team.
You need to have a very good understanding and some experience with most areas of marketing and communication to really succeed in this role. You will be starting this team and will be responsible for the success of all the initiatives.
Presentation & Public Speaking Skills, you will be driving lots of meetings and speaking at events, representing Fliqpay.
