Blanquerna-Emerson Hosts Global Communication Summit on SDGs in Barcelona
The 5th Blanquerna -Emerson Global Communication Summit on “Advocating United Nations Sustainable Goals (SDGs) Through Strategic Diplomacy,” (SDGs) has commenced in Barcelona with delegates from various continent in attendance.
The Summit which commences on Wednesday November, 13, 2019 is organized by the Blanquerna School of Communication and International Relations.
The Conference delegates from Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America explores the global trends given by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in the field of Global Communication, Diplomacy and Politics and will gather the leading professionals.
The Summit discusses four tracks with specific focus topics on Thriving world, Social World, Clean World and Productive World. Speakers and panellists are expected to appraise and examine SDGs focal areas of Reduced Inequality, Zero Hunger, Gender Equality, Good Health and Well-Being, Responsible Consumption and Production.
Other areas to be covered include Sustainable Cities and Communities, Life on Land, Climate Action, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Clean Water and Sanitation, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
The Emerson-Blanquerna Center for Global Communication (CGC) was created to advance the dynamic academic partnership between Emerson College and Blanquerna School fo Communication and International Relations in Barcelona, Spain by creating new opportunities for research and teaching collaborations between the two institutions.
The mission of the CGC is to foster collaborations in the field of global communication that develops education and research to promote critical thinking and ethical communication through International Relations, Political Communication, Strategic Diplomacy, Global Public Relations and Corporate Communication.
This mission is guided by five major objectives upon which the Center was founded which is develop innovative approaches to applied research, collaborate with professionals and organizations through teaching, special events, and publications, share best practices with businesses, government agencies, NGOs, and grassroots organizations, provide international networking opportunities for students and faculty and to create sustainable public and private partnerships to serve as funding sources.
