Lagos – The National president of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Mr Rotimi Oladele, has pledged the support of the institute to the Military, Para-Military, Police Public Relations Officers Forum (MPPPROF).
A statement issued In Lagos on Friday by MPPPROF, said that the NIPR president made the pledge while welcoming the president of the Forum, Mr Steve Okonmah at the Ikeja office of the institute.
Oladele commended the resolve of the Okonmah-led Forum in bringing all public relations officers of Federal and State Government Agencies, Ministries and Paramilitary organisations under an umbrella.
He said that the Forum would not only bridge the gap in all government agencies and paramilitary organisations but would also foster unity, oneness and peaceful co-existence among officers.
Okonmah is the Public Relations Officer of the Ports and Terminal Multiservices Ltd., (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Chairman, South West Customs Public Relations Officers.
Earlier in his address, Okonmah solicited the cooperation of NIPR in the area of training, coordination and support of his members, who cut across the nation as as public relations officer in order to perform better.
He urged members of MPPPROF to strive to bridge the gap already noticed in government agencies.
Okonmah told the NIPR president that the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) had opted to join the Forum.
“The idea is to reduce the fraction between the traffic managers and other paramilitary agencies. `
“Also the Public Relations Officer of the Vehicle Inspection Organisation (VIO) has agreed to join us in our next meeting,’’ he said.
“Apart from this, we will be in Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom, to inaugurate our chapter there, soonest.
“After that, we will go to the North and Abuja’’, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quotes Okonmah as saying.
The NIPR president said he was impressed with the activities and progress recorded by members of the Forum.
