NIPR Shines as Dapo Oyewole is Elected Pioneer CoSPAL Secretary General
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) celebrates its member, Dapo Oyewole, on his well deserved election as Pioneer Secretary General of the Conference of Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures (CoSPAL), in Accra, Ghana.
In his congratulatory message on Tuesday, NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, who is on a 5-day working visit in Lagos said that Mr. Oyewole’s victory at the continental level was a confirmation of his hardwork, creativity, innovation, coordinating capacity, and exemplary leadership over the years, especially as Special Adviser of the Speaker of the 9th Assembly, when the Organisation was birthed.
“To us, your election did not come as a surprise because we know that you are a certified Public Relations professional with enormous capacity, competence and passion for leadership, which you have demonstrated in various national responsibilities entrusted to you at different periods”, the President stated.
Neliaku charged the new Secretary General of CoSPAL to uphold the ethics of Public Relations profession, noting that the new position provides Mr. Oyewole with a greater opportunity to further project the values of the Institute to the African continent and the world.
The NIPR appreciates the Speaker of the 10th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the President of CoSPAL and Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, and very importantly, the Speaker of the 9th Assembly and now Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as the Director General, Nigeria Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, for their initiative, skill and commitment that made the election successful.
CoSPAL, a body of all Speakers and Presidents of Parliament across the 54 African countries was established in 2020 to facilitate increased deliberation, collaboration, and cooperation between Speakers and Presidents of Parliaments and National Assemblies on the African continent.
Mr. Dapo Oyewole, is the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on International Cooperation.
