The window of opportunity for professional members of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), to be recertified into the institute would end by the end of the year.
The Chairman of Membership and Accreditation Committee of the institute, Mallam Sule Yau Sule stated this in an interview with Spokesperson’s Digest in Abuja.
According to him “window of opportunity is being organized every three months and by the end of December 2015, there won’t be any more windows of opportunity courses from January 2016.”
He said the institute is currently sensitizing NIPR members and non-members on its membership recertification exercise with the launch of new certificate of the institute that both old and new members must obtained.
Stating the benefits for the members of the institute, Yau Sule said: “there is an existing law that bars non-registered members of the Institute from practice public relations in Nigeria. We have a lot of capacity building programmes as well as in-house publications to develop the capacity and skills of PR practitioners in Nigeria”
Sule Yau further disclosed that list of all certified PR professionals in Nigeria will be available and accessible on the website of NIP.
