NIPR Inducts over 400 New Members – President Neliaku
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has inducted over 400 new members after the election of the new governing council in August.
The President of the NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, disclosed after an induction of new members in the new year in Abuja.
He said the Institute while fighting against quackery in PR, his leadership is exploring options to make the body enterprise-driven, a move he says would enable it to generate required revenue to execute developmental projects and programmes.
The Institute’s boss explained that the bold step to establish NIPR energy, aviation, maritime, banking, insurance, pension, and enterprise hubs was to improve the Institute’s economic base.
“Introducing an enterprise-driven model will translate into a viable Institute with financial capacities to handle its statutory obligations without compromising standards. This kind of initiative is what we need for sustainable growth and development”.
While expressing his gratitude to members and stakeholders for their roles towards significant progress recorded on the creation of the Public Relations cadre in the civil service scheme, the President said the essence of the town hall meeting, titled NIPR Arena, was in line with his transparency and accountability principles of leadership.
He said that the Institute has strategically designed a series of projects and programmes to reclaim the country’s reputation, one of which is the maiden edition of the National Spokespersons Summit scheduled to be held in March 2024.
